Here is what Swampscott Patch is reporting about Grown Ups 2 filming!
Shooting will start in May and continue through August, with projected scenes shot at the train station, the middle school and some out-of-the-way locations in town.
Selectman Jill Sullivan had one main question for the movie guy who told the board Wednesday he has been scouting for sets to shoot Grown Ups 2 in Swampscott.
Her question — on behalf of her teenage daughter — asked about the presence of teenage heart-throb actor Taylor Lautner in Swampscott.
Location manager Mark Fitzgerald said Taylor would be in town a day or two.
Columbia Pictures/Sony Entertainment has designated 15 days of shooting in Swampscott. That number could jump to 19 days, he said.
The movie will be in production in Marblehead and Swampscott from May 21 to Aug. 17.
Grown Ups 2 will shoot scenes at Swampscott Middle School, the last week in May and the first week in June, according to another location guy, who also spoke on Wednesday night, only before the School Committee, the Lynn Item reported.
Fitzgerald told Selectmen on Wednesday there are plans to shoot at the Swampscott Train Station, perhaps on the platform, perhaps some time in June after school gets out.
Otherwise, he said, the scenes will not be on main drags in town.
Regardless of the location there should be plenty of opportunities for locals to meet some of the stars in the Adam Sandler movie, a sequel to Grown Ups, about the reunion of childhood friends.
The stars include Adam Sandler, David Spade, Taylor Lautner, Salma Hayek, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Maya Rudolph and Rob Schneider, according to IMDb.
