Securus Technologies: Efficiency In Innovation And In Customer Service

Securus Technologies is truly a cutting-edge company. In every area, they worked tirelessly to exceed expectations. This would include their Innovations and their customer service. In the realm of innovation, they are always looking for ways to protect prisoners and employees of the prisons. This would include the areas of Contraband smuggling prevention. One current pressing concern is this: criminals are actually utilizing remote control drones to smuggle Contraband into prisons. Securus Technologies has been diligently looking at ways to prevent this from happening. One of their strategies would be to and still a dedicated partnership with technology partners to develop detection technology such as antennae that would detect the drones before they reach the prison. Currently, they are looking at ways to engineer, install, and develop these drone detection methods. Unfortunately, this is all still in the planning process. However, one can rest assured that the technology from this firm will inevitably catch up to the nefarious deeds of these criminals.

Of course, another area where Securus Technologies goes above and beyond the call of duty would be in their customer service department. Indeed, they have even won awards such as three of them during the 2018 Stevie Awards competition! These would include The Corporate Escalations team Bing awarded Gold for Customer Service Complaints Team Of The Year, Zelperita Jackson being recognized with a silver medal as the Customer Service Professional Of The Year, and the Video Visitation Team receiving a bronze medal for Frontline Customer Service Team. Honorees received these Awards during a gala banquet at Caesar’s Palace on Friday, February 23rd in Las Vegas. Danny de Hoyos, Senior Vice President of Operations with Securus Technologies, noted how very proud he was of the great strides his team has made over the past year. He knows they will continue to be an asset within the corrections industry!

Controlling Illegal Activities within the Prison using Wireless Containment System by Securus Technologies

Even though the security in the different prisons and correctional facilities is tight with security cameras and guards everywhere, contraband cell phones are still finding their way into the hands of the inmates. One might wonder why the inmates need cell phones inside the prison. There might be some viable reason such as to call their family members, but most of the time the cell phones are used to carry out illegal activities inside and outside the prison. The gang leaders who have cell phones are respected and feared more inside the prison since they have the power to control other inmates and sometimes guards as well. Since the prison landlines can be recorded and used against them, most of the inmates prefer to use the cell phones for any illegal activity that they might be planning. But, technological company Securus Technology has helped reduce the use of illegal cell phones inside the prison.

When one thinks of the various crimes committed by inmates while still locked down, the incident of Robert Johnson is the first that comes to the mind. Robert had served as a prison guard for Lee Correctional Institution for 15 years and was one of the top guards who helped confiscate the illegal material from the inmates that included drugs, cell phones, and other substances. One of the inmates was not happy with the deeds of the guard and uses an illegal cell phone to call his associate and get him killed. Even after being shot in the torso area six times, he lived to tell the tale. Today, he works as a freelancer sales person for Securus Technologies who help prison officials learn about the benefits of installing wireless containment system inside the premises.

Securus technologies have developed a technology using which the problem of contraband cell phones can be completely eradicated. The company starts by installing a cellular network inside the prison that would monitor all calls coming from inside the prison and to the prison. The system can identify any unauthorized call from cell phones and also help locate the cell phone from which the call was made. The prison officials can easily keep track of all the calls made from the prison and to the prison curbing all illegal calls. The company has recently started to install the systems in few prisons, and the results have been overwhelming. The company is getting queries from many other correctional facilities and hope to spread to most of the prisons in the country. With so many benefits offered by the new system, there is no doubt why prisons should not install it in their facility. It allows the guards to work in a better-controlled environment and prevent them from being victims like Robert Johnson.

Working Closely with Securus Technologies to Combat Crime

I am part of an elite police force that has the responsibility of getting dangerous fugitives off the street. These are the types of criminals who will stop at nothing to keep their freedom, so if an innocent person gets in their way, they have zero issues making things violent. Before another person was put in harm’s way, my team was called upon to locate this suspect and take them in without anyone getting hurt.

Our suspect was very well-known, in fact, they were making several calls to my captain’s office every week instructing me to meet him personally so we could settle this issue like real men. We would never put our own in danger this way, but we knew we must be rattling his cage if he was so obsessed with me instead of staying out of the spot light.

During my visit to the jail to see if I could get any inmates to help with the investigation, we discovered Securus Technologies was already working on installing the new inmate call monitor system. This software can listen to the inmates on the phone and pick out certain verbiage that we are looking for. We decided to see if the LBS software could locate any conversations concerning our suspect and get him into custody.

Within a few days we hit the jackpot. One inmate was irate that the suspect was out in the open, and he knew the suspect was staying with his family on occasion and didn’t want his big mouth to put his family in trouble too. Not only were we able to get to that location and catch the suspect completely off-guard, no one in the jail even knew we used an inmate and his conversations on the phone to help point us right to the suspect without any incidents.

Securus Technologies Video Visitation Benefits Institutional and Public Safety

The safety and security of correctional institutions is intimately connected with keeping the general public safe and secure. Securus Technologies recognizes this logical and very real connection.

Securus Technologies is a company based in Dallas, Texas, that specializes in creating and implementing technological solutions for the criminal justice system. This includes technology for offender monitoring, criminal investigation, and correctional facility management.

One of the technologies created by Securus Technologies is called Video Visitation. Video Visitation represents an important move forward when it comes to correctional institution and community safety.

Through Securus Technologies Video Visitation, inmates and their loved ones are able to maintain close, meaningful, and consistent contact while they are apart due to a jail or prison sentence. Video Visitation is proving to be a positive advance from traditional in-person visitation.

The Video Visitation solution comes complete not only with the actual communication portal but also registration protocols and security integration. It is much more than a different type of Skype application.

By implementing the Securus Technologies Video Visitation system, a correctional facility is able to address one of the most significant risk points found in these types of institutions. In-person visitation places an institution at risk in a number of different ways.

Chief among these risks is the potential for dangerous contraband to be introduced into a correctional facility during in-person visitation. This includes the introduction of drugs into a correctional institution. The Securus Technologies Video Visitation solution eliminates this serious risk.

Securus Technologies Video Visitation also enhances the safety of the community as a whole. Research indicates that offender recidivism can be reduced when an incarcerated person is able to maintain healthy relationships while in jail or prison, he or she is less likely to reoffend when released. The cut in the recidivism rate is highly beneficial to the community as a whole.

Securus Helps Law Enforcement Crack The Code

Securus Technology recently debuted its new crime-fighting software. The technology company performs a variety of services for the law enforcement community and also provides telephone services to inmates in jail facilities across the country.

It’s latest software, Investigator Pro 4.0 with voice search, is helping law-enforcement crack secret codes being passed between prisoners. It does this by cataloguing every phone call that an inmate makes. The software then analyzes the inmate’s voice so that I can track the phone calls made by that particular prisoner.

When a law enforcement officer wants to listen to the phone calls made by the prisoner, she simply uses the software. The software digs deep into the database to pull up every phone call that involves that particular prisoners voice. The software can even pull up every phone call between two particular voices.

This kind of search can show law-enforcement repetitive messages. Gangs often use coded language to communicate criminal activity. For instance, a murder might be coded as “stepping on a cigarette” during a phone call with a prisoner. Law enforcement can then listen to a series of phone calls made between two particular people to hear this message pop up over and over again.

Once the message is suspected, law enforcement can then turn to crime databases. They can cross reference the instances of the coded message with any criminal activity in the area. This can allow them to predict crime before it happens and can be a useful tool in prosecuting criminals using coded language. Without this technology, law enforcement would be hard-pressed to make such connections. It would take too many people working too long hours.
