In December 2016 OSI acquired another company Flagship Europe. It is a company that supplies food service products across the UK. Their line of products has sauces, dressings, frozen poultry, food service equipment, sandwich fillings, and Oliver James pies.
Executive Chef of Flagship Europe says that the acquisition has opened Flagship Europe to the global market and gives them a chance to serve new clients in the future. This food supplier is located in Hampshire UK. It will give Flagship Europe a broader market in Europe and its food products complements OSI’s manufacturing and processing strengths. The announcement of the buy came just before Christmas 2016.
Ron Holland the CEO of Flagship Europe said that OSI will help their company grow their retail brand. We believe that OSI and Flagship Europe are a good fit. Our brands will benefit and grow being a part of OSI group.
This past June 2016 OSI bought the Tyson Food plant located in Chicago for $7.4 million. The plant scheduled to shut down offered many employees at Tyson a chance to keep working for OSI. The building was bought because it is close to other OSI companies and the facility will helps them meet the rapidly expanding needs of their customers.
“We are excited to have this facility as part of the broad OSI network,” said Kevin Scott, senior executive vice president of OSI. OSI make a variety of meat and convenience products for the food service industry like chicken tempura, meatballs, soups, frozen entrees and sauces. The facility has 200,000 square feet.
Last year OSI installed Remote Video Auditing in many of their plants from Arrowsight Inc. OSI Group signed a multi facility agreement to use this program to help them with their current food safety program in the United States.
OSI continues to grow and implement new and innovative technologies for food products and safety during 2017.
